Current Project
During our first SLC meeting for the 2016-2017 school year we discussed possible ideas for service learning projects for our campus to take part in during the school year. Class Reps took a vote and narrowed the focus down to three possible organizations - Williamson County Animal Shelter, Big Love Cancer, March of Dimes. At our next meeting, a representative from each chosen organization presented information to our students about their organization. Classroom Reps returned to their classroom and shared all of the information they learned about the three selected organizations. Each classroom on campus was asked to vote and decide which organization should be selected for a service learning project. As a campus, our students voted to support the Williamson County Animal Shelter.
JANUARY
On January 29th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Teravista students and their families visisted the Williamson County Animal Shelter and read to the animals. Check out the slideshow on our Leadership In Action page.
FEBRUARY
During the month of February, we will be offering lemonade and baked goods at our Leadership Day for our guests to enjoy. We hope if they see a yummy treat they would enjoy that they will also choose to make a small donation to help us raise money for the shelter. Cabinet members and Class Reps are encouraged to work with their families to make a yummy treat and package them individually. Food items can be brought to school on Thursday, February 16th.
MARCH
During the month of March, we will be collecting items from the shelters wish list. We also made treats and toys for the animals at our SLC meeting. Check out our Leadership in Action page to see photos of all the fun we had.
If you would like to donate items, please see the shelters list of requested items. Students may bring all donations to school. You may also donate items through the shelters Amazon Wish List.
